Ando 
Owner, Visionary & Fitness Instructor

Angela, also known as Ando, currently holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Bridgewater State University and continues to study books such as Creative Visualization, The Secret, You can Heal your Life, and The Writings of Florence Scovel Shinn. Angela has always been a believer in the attitude, “If you think you can, you can, and if you think you can’t, you’re RIGHT!”.

In 2006, Angela auditioned for an elite NFL Cheer Team. Having never studied 
dance prior, she visualized and imagined what it would feel like making the team. One year later, Angela found herself doing things she never thought she could do, dancing, running and challenging her body and her mind.

During her three years with the team, Angela was able to travel to Arizona and perform during Super Bowl XLII. She was also chosen for Operation Seasons Greetings 2007 with the United States Air Force Reserve and traveled to Iraq, Turkey, Germany and England to perform for the U.S. troops. During the summer of the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Angela was chosen among five other ladies to travel to China to promote the NFL and train aspiring dancers for the Opening Ceremonies.

Angela began to see how powerful the mind truly is and wanted to share these ideas with others in the world. She began teaching self healing and fitness classes while also educating others on the belief that “if they can believe it, they can achieve it.” As a huge advocate for living a balanced lifestyle, she became inspired to share her knowledge with others and empower the people who wanted to create change within their lives and those around them.

In 2008 using her fitness knowledge and yoga inspired background, Angela developed her own fitness technique; Mind Body Barre. Shortly after, she also discovered the life changing book I See Your Dream Job by Sue Frederick and became a certified I See Your Dream Job Coach.

Kayla
Co-owner, Fitness Instructor & Reiki Healer

Kayla is a firm believer that fitness goes beyond the physical form; it is her belief that true fitness is only achievable with soundness of the mind, body, and spirit. She has always possessed a strong love for music, dance, and staying fit and is thrilled to share her passion with others. She has had six years of theater arts and dance training through South Eastern Massachusetts Arts Collaborative (SMARTS). 

She is a former NFL cheerleader and captain of the New England Patriots Cheerleading Squad. During her three years on the team, Kayla was one of twenty selected cheerleaders to travel to Indianapolis, Indiana and perform at Super Bowl XLVI. Throughout her three years she was fortunate enough to participate in countless charitable appearances with organizations such as The Make A Wish Foundation. Kayla is a Reiki I certified practitioner as well as an AAAI/ISMA certified STRIDE (Strength and Tone Real Intense Dance Exercise) instructor. She continues to pursue opportunities to expand her knowledge in the health and fitness fields. 


Wanda 
Healer, Visionary & Corporate Consultant

Ever since Wanda was a small child she has had a connection with all the wonders of the universe. She has always been able to feel the emotions of nature and hear the secrets of the wind. Wanda recalls that there was never a time in her life when she was not connected with the other side.

Although she does see spirits, you will not hear her call herself a medium. She expresses that, "My gift enables me to connect with other realms and bring to you information that will help you on your path. Depending on my higher guidance, I use several different techniques for the messages I receive." These techniques vary from herbs, crystals, tarot cards, dream interpretation, numerology and of course her guidance from a much higher power. 

"I believe that a wise teacher allows her students to seek guidance on their own; she knows that when the student is ready they will hear the message. She also knows that the teacher is always a student.  Life is a journey, not a destination. It is a cycle of mystery as old as time."

Her true work lies in the messages she receives from her guides. Her ability to interpret allows her to guide those during their transformation; giving guidance to help others find their inner awareness and higher spiritual purpose.


Mia
Reiki Master, Reflexology, & Touch Therapy

A special note from Mia: 
I am so excited to be invited to practice my craft at Mind Body Barre!!!  Balance in all we do is key.  Allowing yourself to be free of any restrictions and the ability to access this power within you is truly a gift to be shared with the world.  The connection to mind and body must be established.   
 

Reflex-Point combined with Reiki and Touch Therapy or Hydrotherapy treats the whole body,  non invasive and holistically.  A greater portion of illness is stress related. Touch can help sedate nerve endings and generate a deep, tranquil relaxation.  Stress & tension constrict the cardiovascular systems, this restricts blood flow, and this in turn limits the flow of nutrients and oxygen.  This contributes to the restricted flow and removal of toxins and waste and negative energy out of the body. These modalities combined or on their own help to connect with the body's healing ability to cleanse the mind, body and spirit. Life force energy exists within us and all around us, deeply affecting our bodies, minds, and emotions.  Reestablishing this balance and harmony to the physical, mental and emotional levels of YOUR being is MY craft. Within all of us is the power of positive energy!!!   

Karen
Reiki Master & Yoga Instructor

Karen is a certified yoga instructor and a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance. Karen has a 500 hour teacher training level (500RYT). She is certified in Meridian yoga, senior yoga, and children's yoga. Karen is also a Reiki Master.

Karen's goal is to help bridge the gap between mind and body by integrating asana, pranayama, and meditation. We become more aware of our ability to connect when we apply what we learn through yoga to our everyday lives. Karen’s classes create a nurturing and challenging environment suitable to all levels of practice.



Angela
Fitness Instructor/Mommy & Me Instructor

Angela is a hairstylist and has been in the industry for over 12 years. Through these years she has shared her passion for fitness and encouraged clients and friends to not set limitations on themselves. Angela is a firm believer you can accomplish almost anything you set your mind to. She believes its important toincorporate strong mind, strong spirit and strong body into everyday lives.

Angela became involved with Mind Body Barre in the fall of 2012 while expecting her first child. She was looking for a low impact workout to perform while pregnant and found so much more. She immediately felt at home. Mind Body Barre’s philosophy mirrored her own beliefs of what true fitness is, more than just a physical workout but a connection from the mind and spirit to create a strong body.

Angela recently received her Power Pilates Mat Certification along with her Mind Body Barre Certification. She is an avid runner and enjoys participating in road races along with her husband. Angela & her husband love to travel and will often incorporate a half marathon on a vacation. They are looking forward to the birth of their little athlete and a new race division, the stroller category.



Kim
Fitness Instructor

Kimberly is a 2004 graduate of Brockton Hospital School of Nursing, a wife and a mother of three boys. She currently is employed as a postpartum nurse at Women and Infants Hospital in Rhode Island.  

She believes a woman can have it all, but balancing family and work can be stressful.  That’s when her fascination with fitness began.  She used exercise as a way to relieve stress, but something was still missing.  She went from gym to gym searching for a complete workout, but remained unfulfilled.  

She finally found what she had been looking for at Mind Body Barre.  She now understands the meaning behind health and fitness.  It’s not just about working on the outside but the inside as well and wants to share that with all of you.  She firmly believes a woman can achieve fulfillment when there is a balance between mind, body and spirit.

Kim obtains her certification in Mind Body Barre Teaching and Reiki 1.  She will continue to implement the techniques she has acquired at Mind Body Barre while becoming a Certified Holistic Nurse. She hopes to incorporate her skills as a holistic nurse into the Mind Body Barre philosophy.  Let her be an inspiration to all of you!



Marisa
Fitness Instructor

Marisa has always been an athlete for as long as she can remember! Her passion for exercise and helping others combined was the perfect reason for her decision to study exercise science.  

Marisa currently holds a bachelors degree in Kinesiology from University of Rhode Island. Marisa is currently studying to obtain a master's degree in Exercise Science which she will complete at the University of Rhode Island in the Spring of 2012. 

Her main concentration focuses on obesity and physical function in older adults.  She hopes to one day have a career in cardiac rehabilitation. Marisa is hold her Reiki Certification and is also certified in the Mind Body Barre Method along with the Reiki Healing Cool-Down.  Additionally, Marisa believes that exercise is the best medicine-- exercise and living healthy is a lifestyle.


Maryellen
Fitness Instructor

Maryellen has been a local Rehoboth, MA resident for more than 20 years! (Maybe you can ask her for some good directions to our studio!) She is certified in Personal Training, MADD Dog Spinning, Flexible Movement Pilates, Yoga, The Bender Ball, Mindy Mylrea strength movement programs,  Functional Movement, TRX and now adding to her list, Mind Body Barre! 

"I love to play.  Recess and gym class were my favorite hours of school.  I try to bring this playfulness to my classes.  I have studied and loved many programs. I get excited when a program will benefit students on multiple levels.  Mind Body Barre promotes long, lean muscle strength and flexibility.  The positive changes also happen in the mind and spirit of the practitioner.  I am honored to be among the staff." 

When Maryellen isn't teaching she is at home with her husband and three children. She is also a lover of animals and has three cats and one dog! 


Tina

Tina has been involved in Mind Body Barre since 2010! As a former client, Tina saw the development of MBB from the very beginning! After taking her first class, she decided she was hooked on not only the emphasis of the mind-body connection, but also the long lasting results that came with taking the class. 

In 2012, Tina was invited to join the Mind Body Barre team. With a strong passion for fitness and loving life, she cheerfully accepted the offer (and we're so glad she did!) Tina received her Mind Body Barre Teacher Certification in the Spring of 2012 along with her Reiki I Certification. 

When she is not teaching she is at home with her husband and beautiful children. Tina loves to read and is quite the domestic goddess, just ask her about her baking skills! 


Heather
Fitness Instructor

Heather Waxman is a lover of love. By day she is a nutritionist, healthy living blogger, and barre instructor. By night, you can find her propped on her yoga mat, in the kitchen whipping up stellar plant-based meals, or studying the metaphysical text A Course in Miracles. After overcoming a six-year battle with anorexia, Heather made it her mission to give others the love that she learned to give to herself every day.

Heather recently graduated from Framingham State University with a B.S. in nutrition. She loves helping others incorporate more plant-based foods into their lives and is passionate about helping others reach their most vibrant self through a spiritual practice of their own understanding. The brighter we shine, the more darkness fades! Get to know Heather...


Kelsey
Fitness Instructor

Kelsey Fournier is a recent graduate of Rhode Island College. She received a Bachelor of Science in Community Health Education in May 2012. Her passion for health and wellness has opened many doors for her including a career in corporate wellness, teaching fitness classes and working in the health club industry. Kelsey strives to live her life by the phrase, “Practice what you preach”. As a result, she continues to live by the healthy lessons she teaches others. She is committed to helping others to improve and maintain their personal health and overall wellness.

Kelsey has been a dedicated dancer for over 20 years performing in regional, national and international competitions. She received extensive training at Shannon O’Brien School of Dance in Seekonk, MA. Kelsey’s dance training earned her a spot on the 2008 United States Dance Team where she placed in the top five at the World Modern Championship and Jazz Cup in Mikolajki, Poland.

Kelsey spent three seasons as a NFL cheerleader where she held a coveted position as a line captain. Her dancing has also taken her overseas to perform and show support for the US troops at over 20 military bases throughout the Middle East. She was fortunate enough to spend the last game of her career cheering on the sidelines at Super Bowl XLVI.


Julia
Fitness Instructor/Virtual Fitness

Dance and athletics have been a part of Julia's life from a young age.  She was trained in classical ballet for ten years and played soccer, basketball and lacrosse throughout high school.  She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Hamilton College and was a member of the Hamilton College Dance Team as well as the Women's Varsity Lacrosse and Cross Country Teams.

Julia spent two seasons as an NFL cheerleader where she performed for over 80,000 fans at home games and at special events internationally.  She was chosen as one of five cheerleaders to represent the team on a United States Navy Tour throughout the Middle East and Africa performing for hundreds of troops on ships, aircraft carriers and navy bases.  Julia was also among five ladies to appear in a National Visa/New England Patriots TV commercial that aired throughout the 2009 season.  She credits her position on the team to her years of training and the hours she spent as a kid making up dance routines in her backyard with her boom box.

Mind Body Barre reminds Julia that balance is the key to living a healthy and happy lifestyle both physically and mentally.  She is passionate about helping others find inner peace and confidence while reaching their goals through fitness, dance and healthy living.  She encourages everyone to do as her mother once told her "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.  Live the life you have imagined." - Henry David Thoreau
